The few things this site stores in your browser, and the switches that control them.
Updated 19 October 2026
01Three kinds of storage
| Category | What it does | Lifetime | Default |
|---|---|---|---|
| Necessary | Holds your cookie decision in local storage under the key hc_morning_consent. | Until you revise it or wipe site data | Always active |
| Analytics | Totals of page views and sections opened, never tied to a named person. | No longer than 26 months | Off until you opt in |
| Advertising / affiliate | Allows a partner network to recognise a hotel booking that followed one of our links. | Chosen by the partner, frequently around 30 days | Off until you opt in; blocked under GPC |
02Changing your mind later
Every page carries a Manage cookies control in its footer, and the button below opens the same switches. Clearing this site's data in your browser works too: the consent bar simply returns on your next visit.
03Browsers that send GPC
Browsers broadcasting Global Privacy Control get the advertising/affiliate toggle frozen in the off position for as long as that broadcast continues.
